Butler Fuels, leading distributor of quality fuels and lubricants, has appointed Steve Gettings as its new General Manager to oversee its expanding business in the Fairford area of Gloucestershire.
Having worked in the Oil industry for over 30 years, Steve brings a wealth of management experience to the role. His distinguished career includes 25 years with Total (originally Petrofina), with a number of years working in upstream operations (Exploration & Production of oil) and the downstream (refining and distribution) side of the oil industry. He held senior managerial positions including, Industrial Sales manger, Finance manager and Compensation & Benefits Manager. Steve moved to Butler Fuels to focus on the distribution side of oil supply as Commercial Manager.
As part of his new role, Steve will be responsible for managing activities in the South West of England, comprising twelve oil distribution depots in Ashill, Bridgewater, Bristol, Devizes, Evesham, Exeter, Fairford, Honiton, Plymouth, Redruth, Swindon and Yelland (Barnstaple).
Steve commented, “I’m delighted to be offered this new role – the scope and potential for the area presents an exciting challenge. My primary objective will be to growth the business and elevate the Butler Fuels to become the first choice for customers across the region. I hope to achieve this by having the right people in the right places with the right attitude. From my early observations since the appointment, I can see I’ve got a great regional team, full of enthusiasm and local knowledge, who give me confidence that we will reach these goals.”
Residing in Cheltenham, Steve is a true family man, who keeps fit through his love of sport (he played semi-pro for 15 years) plus running around after his (identical) twin three-year old boys.
